Are you following this year’s Canada Reads competition? It’s down to the wire! With two books left out of five, I have to say that I am rooting for Francesca Ekwuyasi’s Butter Honey Pig Bread. I loved, loved, loved this book—it was a real standout novel for me this year. Full of colour and warmth and grief and heart, it was one of those books that had me hanging around for days afterwards, unable to pick up anything else to read, because I just wanted more of its particular vibe and magic.
You can find my full review of Butter Honey Pig Bread over on the Write or Die Tribe website, where I am currently a contributing writer. Go check it out, and between Roger Mooking and I, perhaps we can inspire you to read this fantastic novel.
Good luck to Francesca Ekwuyasi!
